Stockade Diode Selector

Just an initial question until I have the time to document my notes:

Has anyone who has built a Stockade mapped the poles of the rotary selector to the diode banks?

In case you ever wondered exactly WHICH diodes are selected by each position of the Voice selector on the Stockade, here you go.

The standard build of the Stockade calls for the diode bank in blue to have a 100R resistor before the two parallel diodes.

I've never noticed a clipping stage that looked like this. what is the function of the resistor?

You can see that I just jumpered the resistor and plugged in some germanium 1n34As above.
