Stoked troubleshooting…

Back in September I built a Hoof. I was super excited to hear this take on the muff. But it didn’t work. I was so pissed, not having any issues for dozens of builds I just put it in a bag and moved on to the next built and the next build. Tonight I said I’m going to figure this problem out.
I used my DMM in ohm mode and put one probe on the tip of the input and started touching points until I heard the music (my basement test rig is my iPhone plugged to input of the pedal and the output running to a rolls headphone amp. Then I just have iTunes rocking.) I got music on the legs of Q2 and started working back until nothing. C3 was the issue. Got it under the magnifier and holy shit I had a micro tiny ass solder bridge going to the r11 ground. It was like Christmas to see that and hit with my iron to clean it up and now my hoof finally rocks. It’s like a muff with options. Very cool. Thanks for listening. Hope it helps someone remember to inspect your joints.

Forgot to post the photo. Ended up using my very first enclosure I ever bought, up-cycled.
I’m really liking this pedal. It’s like a muff with a very broad eq section. And now of course I’m tempted to load up my cart with that 25% Black Friday deal. Dang.

Nice, I get frustrated when this happens to me. After 10+ years of building, I get cocky with my soldering sometimes (no implications on you, I just get over confident). Doh!!! A micro bridge though, how frustrated is that?
