Stormy Weather

That's the Eagle Creek fire in Oregon, shot from across the river in North Bonneville WA. Looks like a lot of ash on the ground if you look closely. There were grapefruit size embers raining down in Stevenson from across the Columbia at one point. We were huffing smoke 25 miles downwind for weeks, extremely not fun.
That was the one in 2017 right? Guns and roses played the gorge that labor day weekend and me a buddy camped up there. Coming back to the valley we just beat the 84 closure coming down 84 you could see the fire and it was right there. It was pretty crazy. But 2020 santiam fire was crazier down here in the valley. I remember mowing my lawn right after and emptying the bag the clipping were all gray from the ash the mower picked up off the ground.

Yeah 2020 was the summer of smoke. Zero out of ten, would not recommend.

Sounds a lot like where I live. We'll be coming into fire season soon. Seems to get worse every year. I love trees and forests but there's no way I'd live in a forest. That was my dream as a kid. A friend of mine lives in hills just out of town and every summer has a feeling of dread that fire will take her house. That's no fun.
