I did a hole thru version and loved it, this pcb comes already populated with SMD components. It is $9 for the pre soldered board and $2.50 for the breakout board. Then you need to add the three dip-switches and a C5k potentiometer from your own parts. The circuit gets you beautiful boost and then there are the three dip switches which IMO, are not all that useful. Be prepared for a scratchy sweep on the C5k potentiometer... it is normal for a clone of the ZVEX SHO circuit!

For this build I used a 1590a Tayda enclosure powder coated in silver wrinkle. I applied a custom waterslide decal then I protected it with spraymax 3k clear. I used a giant 31.5mm knob from LMS. The LED is a 5mm water-clear blue with a blue freznel. It is wired from the Tayda breakout and there is a 4K7 resistor soldered under the breakout board. The jacks are low profile and the footswitch is a full sized soft click.

Notes
  1. If you build this circuit do not be alarmed when the sweep of the volume potentiometer is scratchy. It is normal.
  2. Easily fits in a 1590a
  3. The breakout board from Tayda is $pendy - you can investigate other ways to get the connections you need.
