Had a couple of wah enclosures sitting around that I've been slowly rebuilding for a while. Had a couple of days off over Xmas and finally decided what I wanted to do with one, and I think it turned out pretty well.

This was a test to see how laser cut bamboo would work for pedal enclosures (for something real fancy I've got coming up), and after a couple of issues with the laser itself got things working. The 'Chikka' and 'Wakka' is absolutely not a cover for a mistake I made I swear  I still need a base cut (4mm bamboo with copper shielding tape on the under side) as I ran out of material.

PCB is a Tear Jerker, with an Eleca Halo inductor I bought straight from the manufacturer. People love to whinge they're 600uh, but with all the other options for dialling in the sound you want they're absolutely perfect for this. It does look horrendously dusty, but that was the result of some REAL stupid problems I had - I hadn't tapped the full depth of the M4 mounting stud so a stainless screw snapped off while tightening it up. I managed to drill the screw out enough to remove it, and then in the process of retapping I slipped and shattered a tap. Shockingly I was able to use a 2mm carbide PCB drill to get the majority of the tap out, and a couple of little tappy tappy taps with a carbide-tipped punch was enough to get it out - and to my amazement I hadn't even damaged the threads.

It must be a new year miracle.
