It's been mentioned lately that we bike lover maybe should get a dedicated thread.

So let me introduce myself, I'm Nic, I've been a bike since a young age. It's always been for ne a way to escape from life problems.

I've also started really soon to learn how to do my bike maintenance. With time, I've started doing more and more of this stuff myself. I'm not afraid of doing suspension services or bleed brakes. (Still, working with oils is my least favorite part.)

I currently own a gravel bike and a full suspension mountain bike. I've spent the last few weeks rebuilding my son's 2011 trek fuel ex6 (fork rebuild, new tires, bottom bracket and brand new stoppers).

Thread 'Who here bikes (pedals)?'

I have goofed an aging GT Avalanche 3.0 - it is my primary mode of transport, used mostly on street but I have cantons to ride in as well so the geometry works for where I live and where I can ride.

I ditched ALL suspension, and converted from a 3x9 to a 1x9. REALLY tough on the trail side. Contemplating a 1x11, but I may need a different frame to execute.

Anyone else?

Thread 'Any cyclists out there?'

I'm not at the "don my lycra jumpsuit with pointy aerodynamic helmet" level, but I'm looking to upgrade my road bike at some point in the next year. Took it in for a tune up recently and realized it might be time to start thinking about just getting a new bike altogether, as I've had my current ride for over 15 years and it's starting to show it's age a bit more easily these days.

Kind of random and broad, I know, but I'm curious if anyone has insight on any of the 'newer' bikes that are out there these days (like last 3-5 years), what they like, what they look for, etc etc. Apparently...

OR... I should've asked Paul about the grip-tape in this thread, instead of bumping the other.
We can have multiple threads.
Or merge this one with that one... need a mod to do it.
Only mod I know is @Robert .
