Since I have been on the mats in circuit dojo with sensei Bones, the importance of measuring jfets and IDSS and whatnot has become apparent. I have ye olde TC151 Amazon/Ebay made in China transistor tester. So how do I measure a grain of rice? Tack solder some component legs on there?

I made this a few years ago. You just need tweezers and a steady hand to hold the part on the pads.

Why are JFETs such a Pain in the Ass?

Or you can always solder them to an adapter board and work with them as if they were through-hole parts.

They are pricey. I have one that I use to measure SMD transistors.

I have one of the Peak adapters but usually just solder them onto a through-hole adapter PCB to measure them.

i bought the peak adapter. it works as it should.
it’s not cheap but better and quicker than figuring something else out.

I think this is the kludge I was looking for and the kludge that I needed.
