I'd like to get into PCB production but the minimum order of 5 units at JLC is meh. I'm thinking it would be cool to make a PCB for a gain pedal that can be populated one way to produce one type of gain pedal, or another way for a different sound. Like those model car kits that came with extra parts so you could make the model into a stock showroom car or a street machine.
Does anyone do this? I was watching the TPS Keeley factory episode, and he said he does this with FV-1 and his delay/reverb pedals, but I'm thinking of a simple overdrive circuit that could be made into one of two sounds, depending on what parts are populated or omitted.
