Under the radar Pedals

My girl got me a Christmas gift about 5-6 years ago . A cheap green Nux Overdrive probably a $20 pedal. But wow it works with 98% of my pedals ultra transparent and adds a wonderful extra sizzle to all crunch pedals. Really any pedal that needs an extra push this is it. I’m pretty sure they can be had still pretty cheap pick one up see for yourself. No idea what it’s based on but great pedal no doubt about it. Anyone got an under the radar pedal cheap or not?
 
I’ve got a Fender Runaway Feedback pedal that I got for $80 on reverb years ago after years of looking for one on a daily basis. It’s a weird glitchy clusterf*** of a pedal, but it’s super fun for X-files type synth sounds. I guess I got lucky on the price since they seem to consistently go for between $400 and $1200 on reverb now, but it’s not a pedal that pretty much anyone is familiar with it seems. I don’t think they were available new for more than a month or two before being discontinued for being way too weird and temperamental
 
Wow jealous. I dig the odd ones. I have just recently learned not to write off a pedal until I’ve thoroughly worked it over Since recently building a couple of meatballs and thinking one didn’t work because I didn’t know how to work it
 
I have the Behringer chorus and knock off BDDI and they are both great. Not sure what they cloned the chorus from, but I used to have a BDDI and the knock-off seems to be just as useful.

I've got both the BYOC Analog Vibrato (BA6110 version) and the Behringer Ultra Vibrato and they're dead close in terms of sound. The only con to the Behringer is the bypass sound doesn't always play well with other pedals, and can be noisy. The BYOC version has trimpots to find the BBD noise level that you're happy with, but it does take a bit of fiddling.
 
I have a Fender Starcaster Chorus pedal that is pretty good. Depth, speed, high, low, and level controls. Not bad for less than $50…
 
I also got some good pawn shop deals DOD Death metal (Damn that pedal is pure chunck and meat dialed in nicely with the Nux OD in front sustaining crunch for days) $30 DOD FX25 $25 and another I dont see much talk about is Morley Bad Horsie Ive modded my crybabies and love them but they dont have that smoothness in change like the in both sound and foot feel plus the tone is superb got that for $30

damn I just passed on one today I thought $75 was a bit pricey too
 
Twinote BBD Chorus AKA NU-X CH3 (exact same PCB with a different paint job on the box).

Just a really nice sounding chorus, and mine was around US$17 or so - they're a bit more expensive now because people (like me) have raved about how good they are. I'm assuming they're clones of a classic Boss pedal or something similarly popular.

It does basic chorus very well. If you want crazy super chorus there are other options, but for the basic effect, this is an unbeatable bargain.

Anything by One Control. Not the cheapest like Nux but for something made in Japan with an enclosure milled out of solid aluminium stock and designed by BJF they are amazing. The Strawberry Red OD I bought at a closeout price at my local music shop because nobody knew what it was. I plugged it in and was impressed. I bought it and a Purple Humper (mid-focussed clean boost) for peanuts. The Strawberry Red is a great OD for a Strat.

In fact I just bought another one to send to Mr PCB to trace. I meant to last year but couldn't part with the one I had so waited until I found another cheap one.

I had an od glove. I loved it and foolishly sold it. I bought it for $40. I also had a joyo overdrive that is pretty close to an OCD, and then I swapped out a couple component values for OCD spec, then I sold that too 😐
