anybody have a good source for 2n1308 germanium transisters for the ungula pedal???

I did about 44 years ago, that's where the two in my Ungula came from. I think that lab has been cleaned out a couple of times since then, ha ha ha ha. My wife wonders why I keep so much old $h1t. I see a lot of NOS 2N1308s for sale on eBay. It's always risky buying semiconductors on eBay, but if the price is low enough, it's worth the risk. You can try other germaniums, just make sure the leakage is low. The HFE on my 2N1308s is so high that the collector voltage is ~2.5V. It sounds ok, so I'm not going to mess with the bias resistors. I strongly recommend installing sockets for the two germanium transistors.
