Purely for the record, I bought my Wima caps for this build (and pretty much every other build I have used them on) from Tayda. They have carried them for several years now and I’ve never had an issue with them. However, because they are a little more pricey, I tend to save them for the builds that absolutely require them, like the AionFX boards, rather than using them everywhere.
I have bought stuff from both Mouser and Digikey (some of the parts for this very build are simply not available at Tayda, such as the incandescent lamp, the LDRs, and the enclosure (thanks, Kevin, for specifying very clearly in the build document exactly what size and type of enclosure was needed, as I would have bought the wrong one)). But I generally don’t like buying from Mouser or Digikey unless I have to. I just find their user interface and search function way too confusing because they return such a vast number of similar items in the results - so they pose too much of a risk of me buying a part that isn’t quite what I was expecting or looking for. (For example, I accidentally bought several SMD components by mistake, as well as a breadboard that was transparent plastic because I didn’t realize just from the picture that the board wasn’t the normal white). Kevin’s shopping list certainly helps zero in on exactly what is needed by specifying a part number I can put in the search bar – but that doesn’t help me when buying parts for other builds or just my general inventory.
Since I haven’t bought anything from Tayda since they overhauled their website, I might have a similar problem with them going forward as well, but I just don’t know yet.
