SOLVED Very low output on this Blender (fender blender)

IMG_2452.jpeg Hey guys. I’ve made this circuit a couple times in the past, with no problems, so I know what it should sound like. This build unfortunately sounds perfect, except this time the output is very very low. Much lower than the bypass signal.

My DMM is acting up on me so I’ve had a lot of trouble measuring the resistors.

I’m wondering if anything sticks out to you guys….or know what part of the circuit would act this way. I’m not to experienced with blending pedal circuits.

On the dry side it is a lot louder than the
fuzz side. Sounds great ….. just extremely quiet.

Hopefully this pic helps, if there is anyone out there who is really familiar with this one that would be so awesome 😎

check your resistor values...could just be lighting but I'm seeing a few 470r where 47k and 4.7k should be. Do a proper inspection yourself first and foremost, that solves at least 90% of issues.

That’s for taking a gander. You could be right. It’s too bad we can’t upload Hi-Rez pics. I have a few different values that are from a panic Amazon order. The colours always look weird, and that makes it harder.

Gotta fix my DMM. The cords are being a PITA. They aren’t making proper contact half the time.

Anyways, thanks man. I’ll check those,

Cheers is x

I did end up finding a resistor that was close but not super close, as I think I was out of the other one. But the main thing was the electrolytic cap on the bottom right was a 47u instead of the proper 10u. The way everything is listed is a whole bunch of 10u’s then you see a 47k in there and if you aren’t careful you screw up and assume it’s the electrolytic cap like me haha.

Just another reason to take your time, and also don’t build when you are tired out etc…. The resistor hunt was a bit of a waste of time. But it really got me used to organizing a check of all the resistors properly.

Go with your gut. My original feeling of the problem being a cap was right after all, as I am really careful with testing resistors generally. And the volume level was almost non existent.

I’ve built a few of these bad boys. When you hear it roar to its chaotic life after solving the problem is a great feeling. I couldn’t stop playing with it after :)
It’s a wild one!
