VHS - no sound

just completed my VHS build. it powers up, all LED's are functional, and I get signal when bypassed, but nothing when the pedal is engaged. this is my first fv-1 build. I believe I did a good job soldering the chip. I wasn't supposed to flash an EEPROM or anything like that, right?

side note: I used on-off-on switches for the toggles rather than on-on since thats what I had lying around. I don't suppose that could be causing an issue could it?

You could check grounding pin13 of the fv-1. When pin 13 is grounded, the fv-1 uses internal patches rather than the eeprom. This way you could see if it’s a problem with the eeprom for the rest of the circuit. You could clip on to one of the legs of R5 (make sure you get the one that goes to pin13, not the leg that goes to 3.3v.

If it doesn’t work with internal patches either, you’ll want to make an audio probe (very simple, just look it up) and check for signal at pin1 (into the fv-1) and pin28 (our of the fv-1).
