VOX Brian May ampPlug

I preordered it from Sweetwater (cheaper to do that than buy it immediately from the BMG shop and pay shipping from the UK). I'm a huge Brian May fan and my first pedal builds have been a variety (too many) of treble boosters, including the PedalPCB and AionFX Rangemaster clones and the Musikding Cornish BC149 clone and the General Guitars Fryer Deluxe clone. I play a Burns Red Special that has been modified to have the correct knife edge tremolo and upgraded Yonderbosk pickups. Attached are pictures of the enclosures I designed for the PedalPCB Rangefinder and the Fryer Deluxe.

TBH, this Amplug sounds a bit fizzy but I think it will be fun for my use case, which is just being able to noodle on the guitar on the couch without needing to fire up an amp, pedals, etc.

Now, see, you can’t be showing me stuff like this, because I already have six treble boosters and I don’t need any more LOL.

Two of mine are germanium based because that’s what he used up until about 1973 (the Rangemaster) and the rest are silicon-based like the one that you pointed me to, which is what he has used ever simce and is actually the thicker sound that I prefer. The board that you pointed me to is actually worth considering because, like the Musikding, the board looks to be really tiny, which might make it ideal for creating a strap-mounted booster for use with a wireless system (since the booster always has to be absolutely the first thing in line coming from the guitar, you can’t really use a booster with a wireless system effectively unless you can actually place it before the wireless transmitter - so a strap-mounted booster actually sits right between the guitar output jack and the transmitter).

Thanks!

No problem at all! It’s certainly small.
I have one and am trying to fit it In a 1590LB and it’s the power/jacks and switch that are causing more of an isssue!

It’s actually small enough to fit in some guitars i think. Especially with the right pot on it. Or just wire it up.

Go on, you know you want to 🤣
