I'm still working out of the back bedroom, the roof of my shop needs repair and NOW the termites are in the wood 'cuz it got too wet for too long. Sigh.

My brother by another mother Danny is the general contractor that works for the Bel Air country club and is going to help me rip the roof off, replace the infested wood and put a new roof off this summer. And THEN I will finally be able to put my stuff away. There will be RGB backlighting!!!!!

Well it looks like it's too late for the Bassman since it's 60% finished I can't put it in the oven, I'll just have to use the other decal for that. But this is going to be GREAT for custom faceplates on inexpensive Hammond blank chassis! And about a million other things..... AND THEY MAKE METALLIC TOO, Ouuu..... My mind is swimming with possibilities....

Don't get me wrong. I've used gels in my photography life a lot, and it has its place.

I'm more worn out from the general rgb obsession that made its way into everything, and in particular it made getting normal looking PC parts as convenient as looking for a single straw in a stack full of needles

I knew a guy that worked for the studios mixing gelatin and food color.... I've been an avid photographer since my teens. Done at least 25 weddings, lost count. Had a color dark room. Major pain in the arse compared to digital, lol...

Weddings are a PitA on their own… only took one to make the decision to never do another. Wasn't the bride or groom, but parents who made it hell (like a year later). Thankfully I had a simple contract between myself and the married couple, so while I got some angry emails, there wasn't much more they could do to me.

I kind of liked doing my own B&W at-home development years ago—made my own reel washer. Still have a decent scanner. Color? and commercial work? nah.

I had it down to a science! I had read several books, multiple times, to get it down to a science. I would talk to the priest a week before and visit the church as well as the reception location so I could plan the shots ahead of time. Had a light weight wind breaker with a bunch of HUGE pockets.

One for spare batteries, one for exposed film, one for new film, and of course my camera bag with four lenses for my Minolta XK. A $1000 camera in 1974 money! It had a 1:1 focal length lens that would take outstanding low light pics.

But all that is replaced with my phone. LMAO!

Yes, mkstewartesq does that.

I haven’t felt the need to. But, that said, after my initial bake to remove the film I do apply a thin spread of the magic glue that comes with the labels. I then do the longer bake that cures the label.

It feels pretty indestructible haha. I don’t tape for drilling for example. I auto-punch, and then drill using rota-broach/rota-cut. No pilot hole drilling needed.

Any issues with label seem to happen only when you remove the film (like by the drive label on the OD3). What’s there after is staying there haha.

Btw anything you see in the holes is not burrs, just drill debris, the rotabroach holes are smooooooth.

Which Rotabroach do you use? I had no idea they were a thing!

I picked up the full fractional kit from Hougen (Amazon). The Blair stuff seems to be from the same manufacturer.

It was a good investment. More time changing bits but no pilot holes to to drill so time wise it’s a wash vs stepped bits. Quality is WAY higher than stepped.

Oh so you just buy the bits and use a regular drill? Drill press?

They look professional! I like it, especially that you can easily do white printing on black.
