What's the most you've crammed into a 1590B?

I've made a Super Duper-style dual boost. What's the most you've fit into a 1590B?

I've built a Hudson Broadcast in a 1590B, but left out the transformer. Still sounds much the same. That's with the charge pump and 3-way switch and all.

From what I've gathered, you can have 4 16mm pots and MAYBE a switch in a 1590b. Have no idea if 9mm pots are used...

Those are some ambitious pot placements Wouldn't 9mm alpha pots have made more sense there?

9mm pots don't have the same pitch as 16mm pots do. That would also require some kind of origami in addition to changing the drill template. @KR Sound solution worked just fine

This was a board that I copied the layout of Robert’s when I was learning how best to connect components. I started with his parts layout and then tried to finish it out as efficiently as possible. Wasn’t even close to how he had it, but it works!

I actually had one connected wrong and had to move one resister connection that you can see on the bottom left.

And I did have to grind the lip off of the lid to clear, although there is a link in that thread to a workaround.

I'm about to attempt squishing a Squishy into a 1590B, because the 1590N1s were sold out in the colour I needed.

In fact, it's so tight, that even if I wanted side-jackassage, I could not. Luckily, top jacks ...

Well, 16mm pots! No photo but this is my layout:


I have mounted the 330µF cap underneath the board with enough lead to bend it at 90 degrees so it fits next to the Lowcut pot. I also used the Si transistor used in the AP version. It's my favourite booster and makes a great fuzz too.

I’ve squeezed tight builds into 1590B before, but this was honestly probably the toughest squeeze just since it was the board, plus the off-board toggle switch, plus the buffer, plus the relay board.
