Not sure I can think of the part you’re talking about, but I’ll listen to the song later to check it out. Definitely seems like a nice trick though! The seventh degree of the m7 chord carries over as the second degree (c) of the sus2 chord, while the minor third of the m7 chord has a nice and smooth lead up to its raised form (f to f#). Sorta gives a modal mixture feel, without imparting a specific tonality since the “borrowed” chord has no third. I’m away from building pedals for the next week, but when I get back I’ll try to work that sort of move into the demo song for my next build report (well… not the *next* one, since I already have a special song picked out for it, but the one after that). Thanks for the tip!— added to my bag of tricks ;)
 
My Epiphany is moving my equalizer to arms reach. I had it hidden underneath the ledge of the pedalboard. By moving it to arms length, I can sculpt the tone to complement the guitar to the pedals and style played.

I have a Charvel San Dimas. I love the neck and feel of the guitar, but the pickups can get really muddy with some pedals, like my Twin Face. However, working with the equalizer has really made it more enjoyable to use all the guitars with all the pedals.

Epiphany from the last year or so: I am really disillusioned with the Internet and the overall tech world. I have worked in the field for the last 9 years and it started as a dream come true, then turned a bit tedious, then I started having the impression that I was part of the problem. I know I can’t assume that the entire industry is bad or all the internet users are bad. But I struggle with all the downsides: the clickbait, the walled gardens, the misinformation, the addiction to social media. It’s been some life improvements and a ton of additional chaos. I worry that it’s simply not worth it and I honestly worry for my kids who are growing up with it as normality. But again maybe I’m just tired and getting old!

I started programming when companies were still using PAPER CARDS to load data and programs! Talk about change. In the early years of the industrial revolution the oil and train barons ruled with iron fists. At least tech is just a virtual fist....

Just wait till there's no keyboard, and the interface is in the brain. It's a comin! I'll be gone by then, and I think I'm glad....

Actually, that Bsus2 should have been a Bbsus2. My bad. The stanza I'm referring to has the lyrics:
"But I won't cry for yesterday, there's an ordinary world, somehow I have to find." And if I'm not mistaken, it's the chorus.
It starts at 1:10 in this YouTube version:

And TBH, a lot of what you said went right over my head. Never learned how to read music nor studied any music theory. But it sure moves my soul.

I goofed there too— if it was Dm7 to Bsus2, the c from the Dm7 would be raised to a c# for the Bsus2, so there wouldn’t be any sort of common tone. With the Bbsus2 on the other hand, both the 2nd and 5th degrees of it are carried over from the prior chord (DFAC —> BbCF) while the Bb is approached from the A by a half step. Essentially what that means is that since all but one of the notes are either carried over from the previous chord, and one note just one half step away from a note in the previous chord, it’s as close as you can be to the previous chord without it being the previous chord, so it’s a really sleek bit of harmony— fun stuff!

I steer well clear of social media. I have been told many ties that I "need a facebook presence" for work. I can't stand it! It's not good for mental health.

I enjoy the internet for what I have been able to learn but I'm very selective about what I look at. As soon as things get even the least bit negative I close the page before I get sucked into it.

I also get tired of the fact that we all want to adopt new technology before all the bugs have been ironed out. Modern digital TV for example is incredible - when it works as designed. But how often does HD TV work properly? When streaming it often breaks up as internet speeds vary. Who uses DVD any more? I like to watch the Tour de France and the picture is forever changing resolution. Even streaming movies, as you pretty much have to because free to air is so abysmal, is fraught with peril. Why don't they get it all working properly before selling it?

In my lifetime, printers have never worked properly.
Windows has made giant leaps forward but the day I switched to a Mac 12 years ago I never looked back. Still using the same machine!
