F*** Subscriptions....

Went to update my resume today only to find out that I cant use Microsoft Word at all without a subscription.... This shit is getting out of hand. I bought a printer last year and that also tried to enlist me in 3 more subscriptions. It's like every CEO went to the board meeting with their brand new money grubbing idea of how to get the most $$$ out of every person possible..... subscriptions....it's exhausting ......... end rant.....

agreed. everytime I change the ink on my printer it automatically prints off a "test sheet". I know its just one sheet but when I have to replace ink every month or so you start to think about each drop that gets used up. And I'm sure someone got a HUGE bonus for that idea. Every printer sold wasting 1% of ink automatically is millions of dollars for these bastards.

Just looked into that- awesome! It was bound to happen, especially with the underground culture of jailbroken iPhones and other locked down hardware.

This is a good rec. Definitely worth it if one’s close to you. I still use my black and white laser printer I got for college like 10 years ago. Anything that needs color I print at work

I use Open Office for so long I can't even remember. Micro$uck has enough money without mine too. Has word processor, spreadsheet and a bunch of other apps too.

That’s why some of us are using Affinity apps by Serif (like Affinity Designer, or Affinity Photo). Adobe became too greedy with the subscriptions.

In my case, is Affinity Designer and Pixelmator Pro. I don’t miss Illustrator or Photoshop at all.

And no, I don’t use Gimp. I tried in the past, but hate the interface with a passion. You won’t find many professional Designers that use Gimp.

I don’t need Libre Office or similar because Mac come with their own tools.
