VFE pedal component group buy. Order form in post #1 (Dec 2)

@cwsquared I'm down to buy my own pots to make it easier on you. However you decide to do it is ok with me.

I'd like whatever chips you're ordering that apply to all the boards I picked. I can't remember what boards I asked for.

How many C10k/C100k pots total (can be a rough estimate) is this group looking to get? Lead time for pots is going to be end of October or early November.

Sorry for hassle to EU and UK folk, importing to those countries has become a real headache over the past few years and we're somewhere between too small of a company to jump through every international hoop & fee and too large of a company to go unnoticed if we just start slinging stuff over the border without following regulations. If someone wants to redistribute, we can ship bulk only to EU if you are a EORI registered business, or UK if you are VAT registered and have a carrier account that can get the shipping bill.

If everything I ordered gets built, we would need 470 total. There are currently 12 Klein Bottle PCBs unclaimed (6 dual pots each), so that drops us to needing 398.

There are 348 currently in stock, and I know some folks already have theirs, so we may be ok with what is currently available or at least real close. I am mailing things to our across the pond friends, so I think I can handle getting them shipped piecemeal.

Down for chips. I won't pressure you for the pots. but yea... that KB chip is gonna stare me in the face and make me cry i know.

Have no fear. I have a plan. It involves an some flux, solder paste, and an oven.

I just need the smd MCU chips to be delivered (looks like early November).

You are beyond appreciated for all of this. Don't forget to add some cheddar to the overall cost for your time. I am beyond happy to pay extra for your time and work on this massive undertaking.

Patience is luckily something I am pretty good at since free time is something of a rare commodity.

I will also take any necessary SMD chips for the projects I've requested in addition to what you already have down for me, thank you. And I'll echo the gratitude for organizing all this, big kudos.

FYI for anyone looking for a quicker and perhaps easier route to a working Klein Bottle --- Peter Rutter was assembling and selling some of his pedals built during the summer break from his teaching. With school starting he is selling parts for projects he did not have time to build, including a few Klein Bottle kits @ $229 for assembled PC boards, pots, and enclosure (but apparently not pre-drilled). Looks like the only things not included are jacks and footswitches.

You mean I could have waited a month or so and just bought what started me down this group buy path in the first place? <Shakes fist at the sky>

In case anybody is interested to know this— it seems that the latest batch of KB from Peter use the OPA1644 in place of the OPA1604. Same cost from most sources, and apparently better performance (based on Peter’s remarks; I haven’t compared spec sheets). I’ll likely be sticking to cheaper, less boutiquey op amps in my KB builds, but figured it may be useful knowledge to some of y’all

Aren't the OPAs the chips with the bga type pad on the underside? If so, there may not be a jellybean smd package that is a drop in replacement...

Can you put me down for the parts for the following please?

Alpha Dog
Ice Scream
Yodeler
3x Extra SPS

I'm down for whatever parts can be scrounged for my
1x BumbleBee
2x WoodChippies
2x Standouts

ASIDE: I wonder if I can swap out the 1644 (easily) on my VFE KBs?
