Tayda - Thailand Post Rant

I think a Chinese harvest holiday just ended...
Friday (so two days ago already, 'cause they're living in the future over there) was Mid Autumn Festival.

Happy Mid Autumn Festival, BTW.

But that's China.

Apart from the Equinox 23rd Sept, I'm not sure what Thailand's got going holiday wise. They might celebrate mid-autumn, but it's not a public holiday or anything, so shipping should remain unaffected.

"Loy Krathong Festival", where people pay their respects to the Lord Buddha and seek forgiveness from the goddess of water for trespasses against her, isn't until 28th November this year.

Based on what other DHL-users have said in the thread, I can only conclude that DHL is inconsistent in the US — some get great service, some get abhorrent lack-of-service — and the only way to know what you'll get is to roll the DHLice...

And I should clarify - my purchases shipped a month ago. Of that time, the tracking was last updated on Sept 9. I guess we’ll see what happens.

My only experience with DHL has been from the US, but they're my go-to for international shipments. When I lived in Idaho they handed off to USPS and that always seemed to add an extra day or so. When I lived in the middle of the Mojave desert they handed off to a "local" third party courier that was 90 minutes from me, still pretty quick. Now I'm in the Chicago area and my house is 20 minutes from the O'Hare airport, so DHL gets to me FAST. But it's all about location.

yeah signs are pointing to nope. Mine left Thailand well over a month ago. Last tracking update Sept 9. 🤷🏻‍♂️
My NOT plywood D45 clone with rosewood back and sides, ebony "black finger" fingerboard, real abalone inlay, ordered 9-8 made the plane trip in three days. But the plane landed on the wrong side of the USA. It was scheduled to arrive yesterday. After making me wait all day on Friday the 13th, so I could sign for it, usps updated the delivery date to today. But it still shows as in transit.

Not holding my breath, but DAMN I have things I need to do besides waiting for the doorbell.....

Just opened the package I received ... it's my second order, so order number one still missing. Bummer because I have my polaris ready to box since 2 months and I received the Redshift box, but am still missing a few parts that were on the first order.

Never hurts to have a well-stocked parts stash...
That's what I think, I knew it would show up sooner or later... thought it would be later... but I will need 3pdt's, bezels, power jacks and resistors for sure. I did not reorder the enclosure that was in that order so I'm happy it's here, but I would have ordered the next one if it would have shown up a day sooner :(
