I just popped my blues driver cherry last week. @joelorigo gave me one of his extra Blue Sheep boards and I finally got it running. I dig it. I think I prefer it over other lower gain overdrives. But I use low gain overdrives with rats or big muffs.

The Blues Driver is the best dirt pedal Boss made, imo. It's not what I'd use to push an amp into a tight overdriven sound like an SD-1, but it sounds a lot like an overdriven amp on it's own.

The Blues Driver outlived everything but an IC muff on my board. Until my kid took it. I scored a Blue Sheep in the Hit Me PIF party, so crisis averted.

I started watching Wampler's "What makes this pedal great" video on the BD-2 again the other day. He mentioned this exact thing as it's purpose in life. It's supposed to emulate a driven Fender tube amp.
