Covid

Man, it’s a weird thing. I got vaccinated in early 2021. At the time I was working in education and I guess for that reason I was in the “group” that was given access before most other people in my area, pretty much the first batch for our town. Pfizer, first dose in January and second in February. As far as I know id never had it up to that point.

Ended up testing positive in like June of that same year and it hit me like a truck. I completely lost my sense of smell and taste and was basically bed bound for like a week. After about a week I was mostly better but my sense of smell did not start returning for literal months. (Wife thought this was nice as I could change diapers without dealing with smells). To this day my sense of smell is still very “muted” and not nearly as keen as it once was. Kinda weird, I’ve just accepted that’s probably how it’s gonna be at this point.

Anyways COVID’s flaring up in our area along with the regular seasonal stuff and RSV (I’m in healthcare now and we’re slammed) and I think I must’ve come down with something again. I had a terrible fever last night, but woke up feeling decent today… until the closing announcements at the end of our church service that I was playing bass for. Got all woozy and dropped right there on stage in front of 1,000 people 😂 I’m feeling fine now but that was not a particularly fun experience

Hope you feel better quickly, @giovanni.

Never had it. Nor my wife.
Had our boosters just a couple weeks ago.

Then last week an asshole just outside the grocery store sneezed without covering his face, openly, into the air.
☣️Asshole.

I was a few steps behind my wife, she got it 🦠 and I didn't. Yet. Taking a lot of precautions at home 😷🧼🚰🧴, but I just ate a single bean off the unclean kitchen-counter without thinking and ... well, I'll keep testing and see.

Again, speedy recovery Giovanni, I hope it's a mild one and you feel 💯✖️🧈 ASAP.

Just a general comment on covid, when you get it avoid veggies. Anything with cellulose is going to cause enormous gas pain and diarrhea. I loose my ability to digest it when I get covid. This last time as soon as I figured out I had it, I only had bread, cheese, meat, pasta and had the "best" time I had ever had when I had that dreaded plague. Home made chicken soup once or twice a day. It really is beneficial to the digestive system.

I also take tramadol for the pain. I'd rather take Ibuprofen but I am allergic to all nsaids and tylenol.

My son is a Pharmacy Tech at Publix (large grocery store chain here (who still lives at home....sigh) and my daughter works in the bakery as a cake decorator in the same grocery store chain. Between them both they bring home every germ imaginable.
My wife is a teacher and our daughter is in 4th grade. I’m surprised we’ve only had it once and that was just a year ago.
