Most challenging builds

I enjoy a good challenging build. I think my most challenging builds so far have been either my muffin factory https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/muffin-factory.22489/ . which was a challenge because it required sourcing some parts I don’t normally use and doing the stacked boards, switch layout, getting it all to line up correctly. Or my Spectron https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/aion-spectron.22748/ which was challenging to rework the layout to get everything on the back of the pedal and had a lot of off board wiring to the jacks.

The pedals I haven’t done but look like they could be contenders for most challenging are https://shop.mas-effects.com/collections/diy/products/mimirs-well-pcb which I believe is basically 4 arachnids with an Arduino and screen. Or this https://www.deadendfx.com/product/pompei anyone built either?

My hope is to get lots of inspiration for future challenges. Post either your most challenging build or the board you think would be most challenging to build.

Those look like good candidates. I just finished a spectron. The two challenges I'm considering next are the low tide mini and the sib echo drive clone at defx:

REFLEKTOR - PROJECT PLUS KIT (Kit quantities limited)

Our version of the SIB! Echodrive v.2 - Red unit. PLEASE READ WARNING AT END! Heralded as a very warm, organic delay, mostly due to the 12AX7 tube used as a pre and post boost. We've managed to recreate it, but without having to resort to using 120v (or 240v for the rest of the world) mains...

I couldn’t find any info on that one is it like a dual meatball? The Sagan delay on his site looks like it could be difficult build also.

I don’t know about challenging, but it might be the pedal I’ve seen the most troubleshooting posts about.

I guess the west way to describe it is like an autowah or mutron III. It goes up or down.

Really for me the most challenging builds were when it just doesn’t work and my debugging skills weren’t up to the task.

And it doesn’t seem to matter how complex the circuit is, just how careful I am when building it.

I’ve had some PLL-type pedals that were a pain, the data corruptor and the swarm.

I have a friend that’s making some faceplates for a few of my latest builds. I mention him because he does some really cool builds for his work, designing and building industrial controls.
