US based seller of soldering supplies

…that isn't beezosmart or eBay, that is.

Something highly recommended and reliable is what I'm looking for. I'm good on solder for now, but looking for low, low (maybe next to zero) rosin flux. I'm partial to paste or gel, bad experiences with liquid.

Yeah, Google exists, but the word of mouth from people who do this day in, day out is more valuable to me than stars from strangers.

Thanks

TEquipment has a good selection, and their prices on Kester 44 are competitive, so I'd imagine it's the same for flux. I bought my FX888d from them, and it was a smooth transaction with lots of updates.

It seems like Circuit Specialists should probably be in the discussion, but I haven't bought anything from them, so I dunno.

I replaced my cheap iron from Circuit Specialists with another. I’ve also order some parts and haven’t had issues so far. They seem to have a decent variety of soldering supplies.

That’s my .05 of experience with CS. But I’m just one dingus.

I recommend Circuit Specialists too. I've gotten good deals on soldering stations, and de-soldering stations. Once they even threw in a free DMM. Now I return to them for expensive replacement tips. :p

TEquipment
Okay, I'm losing it, because looking back for the Hakko tip I need, apparently I bought mine from TEquipment three years ago 🤦‍♂️ 🤡

Got some good stuff from them, since I needed a T15 tip as well, though a cheap linear bench supply would've been nice, too.

Right, so just a heads up: Got a call from TEquipment and the manufacturer of the solder paste I ordered can only be shipped next-day air, which is like $30 for something this small.

There's no mention of this on TEquipment website, only that the product is non-cancellable, non-returnable …order processing is looking at getting an exception, because the lack of communication of these stupid-@$$ policies weren't listed on the reseller site.

I usually get tips and solder paste from digikey (canada though). Cheapest shipping around even if you don't spend 100 bucks.

Another 25 percent off in the cart
$20 and change
But shipping for me almost doubled it so passed
Yeah shipping turned me off too. I thought about also getting a variac but I was still $25 short of free shipping, and the shipping would have been $40

SRA Solder in addition to being the manufacturer of my favorite rosin flux (#135) also stock the MG Chemical's lead free solder that I use. I've bought from CS and TEquipment before as well. Chipquik has an online store as well but I can't speak to it personally. I've purchased from MarVac (via ebay).

Just want to clear the air

TEquipment is awesome and was able to make it right on the end. They were not to blame for the surprise shipping increase.

That was MG Chemical, who demands it, because otherwise their "perishable" flux would be "non viable" if it were to ship ground… like, mfer what about it sitting on my desk for 5–10 business days? Would it expire on that short of time?

Anyway. TEquipment made it right.

Edit:
They're also updating the product listing to reflect MGC's (weird imo) practice of next day air required.
