I got these, and all my other pickups, from @guitarmadnessguitarmadness on eBay, I love all of the Alnico Hums I get from him and he has a wide selection at affordable prices

That's pretty funny, I just "discovered" guitarmadness and have gone a bit overboard trying his pickups. I've been super impressed with the set of "Premium Alnico" strat pickups I installed in my "Blackie" project strat. Also quite impressed with the '59-er Humbuckers.
I have a set of his Alnico II hums ready to go into a guitar that I'm waiting for some parts for. Can't wait to try them.

Love it! it looks way better than the last guitar I tried to shoot a nitro finish on. It wound up in the garbage can when I moved a few months ago heh.
Yeah, this is pretty low stakes (shitty poplar body), I didn’t even bother filling all the “relic” marks from the previous abuser. My collection is def not made of museum pieces.

Quite the upgrade! The newer Sora is not too bad but I'm going to assume this is the older Sora that does not have the under-the-tape cable routing, which was indeed awful. Open Pro rims on those??

The rims are Mavic SUPs w/ Shimano Ultegra hubs. They do need a little bit of trueing.
The Bianchi came with the older Sora Groupset. The brifters work but they're annoying. You can't shift to a higher gear when riding in the drops. Also the brake levers are very loose feeling and I downshifted a couple times when engaging the brakes.

Yup, I feel you. Makes no sense, I always hated that design. The Dura-Ace is gonna be an eye-opener.

The Trek I bought had Ultegra throughout so I knew the Bianchi could be much better!

this homebrew power supply that i first built a few years ago.

9V node was previously covered by a LM7809 regulator.
got a layout idea from here:
this setup has done just fine. reliable and quiet.
with a 1A transformer, 7809 has consistently been putting out 8.99v
but when i hear about people using 1spots and such that put out 9.XX volts, i kinda feel like ive been robbed a few 100mV.
that’s just what my brain does lmao.
so i’ve been curious to try an LM317 in place of the 7809.
following the TI datasheet:

while doing some reading on the subject, i saw some nerds talking shit on LM317 being inferior and noisy or some shit, so I was mildly concerned that it could be a stinker, possibly a waste of time, but then I saw the same shit talk about LM7809, so kinda just shrugged and went ahead with it.
actual real world result:
Mostly the same.
But I reckon this LM317 supply circuit might actually be a bit quieter than the comparably basic 7809 circuit that was previously in place.

I imported a Peugeot! Spent a good three hours cleaning it with a combo of degreaser and polish.

Absolutely.
I even did it professionally one summer when I was a teenager. We worked in two man teams. The senior guy went into the apartments with the leaf blower. I was outside with a 40 foot ladder and a gas powered air compressor. I would poke a tube with a back sweep nozzle into the vent from outside and blast all the shit into my face. Dryer lint isn’t so bad, but birds like to make nests in the high up ones.
A warm dryer vent is pretty prime real estate for a bird family, so they’d get re-occupied every year. Birds don’t reuse the existing nests, they push them down the pipe and start a new one every year, so some of them had 6 feet of impacted sticks, feathers, bird shit, and lint in them. It was pretty gross.

More like what's not on my "workbench". I just finished the last of the VFE boards that are currently earmarked for somebody else. @Barry is about to have some projects to work on.
Then to just solder up the few loose Klein Bottles I have left and try to sell them over at Madbean or, worst case, Reverb.
