MXR Rockman X100

Buy my RockEngine instead. Now that I finaly gave in to competitive pressure and put it on sale, you can save $100 over the MXR that you can instead spend on bits and bobs to make your own Rockman pedal, just the way you want it. With hookers, booze, not to mention an actual delay section, headphone amp, and tweakable settings 😁

Nah, screw the delay and everything that follows. Might as well screw the hookers while you're at it 😁 (pardon me, I'll see myself out).


PLOT TWIST : @Robert traces the MXR and it turns out to be a rip-off of my Rock Engine and @Cybercow s RMS pedal 🤣

Sorry jtex, I saw the sale and related docs. Is there a plug in board that this thing mates up with? It seems kinda weird if I have to figure out a way on my own to get this thing to be playable. Certainly not opposed. The response was kinda whacky though.

I don't really have a motherboard ready for public consumption. You can easily get it working on the bench with just a few Arduino style leads, switches, pots and jacks and such. There are some examples in the datasheet. You can even plug it straight into a breadboard but I don't recommend it. It can be quite hard to plug 42 pins at the same time without applying a lot of force.

Comparing the MXR one to what you and Josh are doing are like comparing a Rolls Royce to a Prius. Sure the Prius will get you where you want with a few of the necessary features (stereo, AC etc), but the Rolls will have EVERYTHING you want and need!
Y’all’s pedal is one of the only pedals I have on my radar to buy in the future (a DIY option would be cool btw!)
 
I picked up an old X100 amp before covid with RockAdapter for $150 and I will NEVER let it go. I was born in ‘83 so the cleans and the drives are THE SOUND of my childhood. I didn’t love the way it slid around on my desk, so I found someone on eBay to make a head shell for it and never looked back!

It might be fun to make a lunchbox head with that board…hmmm…
 
How cool is that? I got an old MosValve on eBay a very long time ago that was blown up and never did figure out how to fix it. Wish I still had it, my troubleshooting skills are much better now
