We need a few more Luigi’s before CEO’s start to second guess growing profits at expense of employees/customers
That really makes all the difference. I’ve had a lot of bad ones, and my current ones rules.I have an excellent manager
Only time I’ve seen a guitar pedal pcb designer call for a 1550Gdeadendfx, the guys with huge diy boards![]()
Oh buddy. That hasn’t been a thing since jack welch had his say.We had layoffs in 2023 and now are struggling to keep up with work. The rationale was to cut “low performers” but I always think that’s a shortsighted thing. We should invest in people development so that they become high performers instead…
I’ve had very bad luck with contractors using the appropriate protection for our stuff. It’s very annoying when they do that!Dumbass contractor cut tiles in the bathroom next to my shop with both doors wide open. Whatever happened to common sense??? A 5 year-old would have thought to maybe close the farking door when making dust clouds! Now I have to individually clean Every. Single. Item. In. My. Shop.
On the bright side, it made me reconnect with Big Bertha and caress her once again. The biggest PCB I ever designed. They don't get much bigger!

People airing grievances on Robert’s workbench…
It's a 40-channel wide audio source selector. It has three 40-channel sources and one 40-channel output (all balanced), going to a 39-speaker setup on 4 rings: 8x floor speakers + 4x 15" subs, 12x ear level, 12x height, and 3 ceiling-mounted "voice of God" speakers. IMlab stands for IMmersive. Audio research stuff mostly, but the room is also (under-) used for Atmos mixing. Lots of latching relays. Even the switching logic is done with relays, just for fun.Oh, and what is it and what does it do? "IMLAB Source Selector" — I need one.
