I just finished this one in a textered black 1590B and compared it to my 1970's original and I'm pleased to say that it sounds EXACTLY like it, and it's tiny compared to it.
here's some pics of it (and the last one side by side with the 70's unit. (BTW, the original is 9V battery power ONLY).

One of my earliest builds was the byoc 1590a version of this circuit. It's a great fuzz, mine got dethroned pretty quickly but it's surprisingly decent on bass.

yeah, it works well on bass. my only complaint is that it's a pretty noisy circuit (both the original and my clone have exactly the same amount).
