King Tone Guitar Switch

Why not just invest in a set of really nice pickups and then you don't need a switch with ten options you have to run thru just to find the one that makes shitty pickups sound marginally better?

Why make a guitar have 10 voices rather than own 10 guitars?

Who has time in the middle of the song to flip back and forth and audition all the different sounds in one of those switches?

Why do we bassists with active electronics have on board preamps then? It's so you can tailer your sound a little to a song or group without fucking with your pedalboard. Yes you can mess your amp but that is something quite a few musicians don't even use anymore.

It sound good even with nice pickups but to be honest it's quite niche I don't use it too much it's just cool to have the options

What kind of a question is that? You can't think of a reason why someone would want to install a $10 mod to a guitar to make it sound like 10 guitars which I'm quite sure would cost more than $10?

I understand something like this isn't for everyone, but I don't understand why others feel the need to jump into a technical discussion to shit on something they don't feel the need for. Others clearly do, and it fulfills a niche even if you don't feel that's necessary.

True but that's what the thread is for so you can build it for $5
Your right...... build it for $5 I can get behind.. :ROFLMAO: ... But believing it's going to do something magical I cannot..... It's more about the melting solder part than if it's going to make much difference in tone.

Oh man, that's just delicious bullshit marketing talk that I almost want to change my signature, but I don't think it works quite as well without context.

Nobody actually believes the bullshit marketing, and both of you already attacked the concept itself, not just the marketing.

Edit: Well, nobody in this thread at least - no telling what the average joe over there believes.
