1nF is a common value. It might also be listed as 1000pF, or 0.001uF depending on the vendor.

Here is a handy chart for you!

Also when ordering capacitors make sure you reference the circuit board you're ordering for. If the spot is circular with a positive and negative side, it's an electrolytic, if it's a rectangle you need a box film or ceramic.

There are also handy phone apps that will do the conversion for you, as well as calculate parallel-resistors/capacitors-in-series, decipher resistor colour codes, etc...

If you solder two caps in parallel, they sum. So if you ran out of 1n, in a pinch you could take two 500p in parallel and get your 1n.
