General Tso - Are both "Parallel" channels equal?

Thanks for the replies! This was a little bit ago and I had forgotten about this issue! I ended up getting a J113, sealing up the LED's (+changing their orientation) and reflowing all the contacts. The pedal works like a charm and is my favorite compressor now! Definitely subtle and not a Ross...

General Tso - Are both "Parallel" channels equal?

Hey gang, Built a General Tso last night (my first optical compressor) and while testing it in the dark with sustain knob at max, I noticed that LED2, as notated in the build doc, responds to pick attack by illuminating the whole LED but LED1 does not. To clarify, the whole diffused body of the...

    Symbolic Overdrive

PedalPCB, I found that my issue was with C2 so you're right! After fixing my issue either R5 values sounded good. Thanks for that schematic y'all the best.

    Symbolic Overdrive

Good catch Mike! PedalPCB, I have the symbolic drive and initially built it with a 10k resistor on R5. I just installed a 22k resistor on R5 but now my Symbolic Drive sounds mis-biased like a velcro/glitchy fuzz factory. Is R5 a biasing transistor for one of the 2N7000 transistors? Thanks!

Eternal Burst - Background noise but no guitar signal

The cap I’m using for C5 is 10uF and 16v, any chance it could have blown from excess voltage? I’ve got another eternity that I built just like this one and I’m cross referencing the two. I used a 25v cap for C5 on the one that works.

Eternal Burst - Background noise but no guitar signal

Good idea! Get 0.68v forward voltage on the 1N914 diodes and 0.19v on the 1N5817. So they’re looking good. Is it possible that it’s the 3pdt or one of the pots? I’ll bypass the switch and see if that changes anything.

Eternal Burst - Background noise but no guitar signal

Reflowed all the contacts and rewired the board. Unfortunately, the same problem still. I used an audio probe and get signal at C1 but not on pin 5 of the ic. Whatcha guys think? This isn’t my first dual OD with this wiring scheme, but this is my first time with this particular problem. Usually...

Eternal Burst - Background noise but no guitar signal

BuddytheReow, it’s a 1590bb but I used the wide angle on my iPhone so it has that fishbowl effect :)

Eternal Burst - Background noise but no guitar signal

Quick response that's awesome! For the pictures, I'll try my best! The yellow wire is connected to the "ground" of the PCB. In is the green & blue wires soldered underneath. Green soldered to "in" and Blue is the "out."

Eternal Burst - Background noise but no guitar signal

one correction: pin 5 on IC is actually 1.87 approx 2v . Is that standard? The voltage drops from 9v to 2v across R3, a 1M resistor

Eternal Burst - Background noise but no guitar signal

Hi friends, I have an Eternal Burst in a dual overdrive project with a boost in the front of the pedal. The boost works and the guitar comes through the amp when both effects are bypassed, but im not getting signal when the Eternal Burst is switched on. Turning the 3 knobs do have an effect on...

Solenoid Mid Boost Control - Works... oddly?

I better insulated the pots and pcb, checked solder joints and wired the Audio pot backwards for a “mid cut” but with the correct taper. After trying it with some different amps and guitars I think the knob is functioning accurately. I was thinking that it was more of a 500-800hz ts like mid...

Solenoid Mid Boost Control - Works... oddly?

Awh, good point. I cleaned the PCB and then used Electrical tape on the back of the pcb. However since the tape isn’t the best , I’ll add some insulation and see if that fixes it.

Solenoid Mid Boost Control - Works... oddly?

Hi friends, Big time PedalPCB lover and first time poster. My Xotic Soul Driven (Pcb: solenoid overdrive) works and sounds killer! But I’m curious if my Mid boost knob is not functioning as intended. Knob all the way to left is big sound and the high frequencies are all there. But as I roll it...

    Six string stinger

Hi Clay, I bought some off of small bear too that I had used on a SSS build with the same exact thing: barely any gain. I went to SMD J201 and used Pedalpcb's adapter to solder them up and now the gain comes around 1 o clock with a strat.
