Understood. I've not had much luck finding info or others who have completed this one, and my last note to Nell went unanswered so thought I'd ask.

Regarding the speed indicator LED... from the gutshot it looks like you had the anode wired to the associated pad on the PCB. Nell's build doc mentioned the design was messed up and wouldn't work when set up in that fashion. Did it work when you had it wired that way? I've tried the revision...

I ran mine around the board but still get the whoosh at higher settings. Guessing KreoPensas is correct that it's just the price of admission.

Makes sense. Although mine ended up with wayyy too much whoosh. Didn't matter the settings, it dominated the output. Sure enough, tried changing the 4558 from the cheap Tayda part to one I got from GPCB and it quieted way down. Pretty much as airbud described. Now it sounds great.

Did you manage to work out what was causing the "whooshing" sound? Just finished putting this one together and I get the same result, but seem to get it through all settings, not just maxed. Going to try another 4558 than the one I got from Tayda, but sounds like that didn't make much difference...

Did you end up trying this yourself? I've got a Duocast board in my to-do pile but no box... hoping I could just go 1590BB2 pre-drilled by Tayda rather than getting a Gorva and making a dog's dinner of it with my unsteady drill work.

I just adjusted the trimmer to taste. What usually trips me up with these sort of builds is using sockets. Not sure if your build included them (I wanted to try different transistors in this case), but 90% of the time if the fuzz is too quiet or something seems off, it ends up being sockets not...

I ended up wiring another 3pdt like the diagram of the boost section of the 200 Sunny Sunns board. FIlter works for me in that configuration.

Bought one of these boards a while back from Nils and it got lost in the shuffle. This thing sounds like a load of fun so will definitely get started on it in short order. Any chance you have the tayda drill coordinates?
