Should I expect to pay Tariffs on Tayda Orders?

The cool thing about their announcement is that they say why there were two in the first place: https://www.tubesandmore.com/customer-service/antique-electronic-supply-merge-with-amplified-parts

    Legit LM308n ?

I got mine from alexer1 as well. I don't see any on Ebay, though it's tricky with the cyrillic characters. There's this listing on Reverb (no affiliation): https://reverb.com/item/48383297-nos-u-r-s-s-140-1408-analog-lm308 Looks like they've become scarce too. Maybe it's time to start...

    Legit LM308n ?

I got some PDIP LM308 from this seller a couple years ago: https://www.ebay.com/str/intergalacticsemiconductor. They were pulls, with mangled legs and a variety of markings. I tested them in a Rat circuit on the breadboard, along with some Motorola metal cans, some УД1408А, a NTE 938, and a...

Very high soldering temperatures and components/boards

Those tips look fine to me, and the solder joints look OK as well. It may be a problem with the station <-> tip connection? FWIW 0.8mm is the thickest I'd use on a PCB. 0.5mm melts and flows a little bit faster, I think. Those are very personal considerations, like soldering temperature itself...

    Jlcpcb and tariffs

US consumers can pay the tariff on delivery, with an added broker's fee to the carrier, or we can pay it in advance, rolled into the shipping charges at origin, without that broker's fee. Neither Tayda, nor Thailand, nor DHL, nor any other rhetorical straw man, is ultimately responsible for...

    Trap Feeder 🏠 💡 💔 (Irrlicht/EQD White Light)

Dunno how I missed this post, but, wicked cool build for a wicked cool band! I got flattened by Shane at their show at Black Lodge last year and consider it a life high point. My 17yo had a nice conversation with Demian after the show about his playing style, and I noticed the Life Pedal and was...

    What's on the workbench?

That's what I thought too. Maybe DHL is OK with doing DDP shipments, and not the kind where they get to charge the recipient the tariffs plus the broker's fee. I'm definitely going to defer any overseas ordering, because, who knows.

    What's on the workbench?

Tayda currently offers only DHL shipping that includes tariffs. It adds about 20% to the overall cost--so, cost of items + ~20% tariffs + shipping cost. The shipping cost seems to decrease with order amount, like before. Tariff, of course, increases with the order amount.

    Tayda packing and shipping

Looks like tariffs against US consumers who buy stuff from Thailand should be 19%. Today I clicked "Reorder" for last week's order, which was US$74.31 with $9.80 shipping, and the current shipping charge shows $25.45. Assuming around $14.08 in tariffs, it's pretty close. The shipping option...

    PDF or Web-Based Build Instructions

I like to mark off parts with a highlighter, so I can face the agony of the couple components I need to order after all. And, I print the build doc when I receive the board, in case the board/doc gets revised before I start on it. It's happened more time than I'd like to admit.

    Tayda packing and shipping

I'm guessing that a package that enters the clearance process after midnight on the 29th will have tariffs assessed and the carrier will add a brokerage fee, which seems to be at least $20. Probably, hopefully, Tayda will offer a Delivered Duty Paid option, where they bundle the tariffs with...

    Tayda packing and shipping

There might be a flood of orders trying to get in before the tariffs kick in at the end of the month. I know I'm putting together a monstrous cart.

    LinkedIn Learning?

I liked the Electronics courses by Barron Stone. Some review, some new understanding of the basics. The Illustrator courses are very good, and there's a basic Affinity course.

    delay pcb recommendation

I've found that a simple PT2399 delay like the PPCB Seabed is perennially useful. In my case it's Madbean's Cave Dweller, but the Seabed is the same basic deal. It may sometimes get moved off the board, but it never makes it to the shelf.
