Maybe a dumb question, but what are you using to go from the pcb to the switch. Looks like thicker bare wire. Is that something you can buy, or are you using scraps from a diode or something? Build looks awesome!

I have built about 5 pedals now and am enjoying it. Luckily I haven’t had any issues, but I know at some point I will. When that happens, I would like to know how to troubleshoot and reading schematics is a large part of that. What’s the best or easiest way to learn that skill?

Is some solid more pliable than others? The Tayda solid core that I have been using breaks with very little stress it seems like.

Loving the input! One question, are you guys mainly using 24 awg stranded wire? I hade some 22 awg stranded and it seemed a bit too large for the switch pcb holes.

I have built a few pedals now and am curious what are the best options for the components that are used in every build. I have been less than satisfied with the tayda wire I have been using and wonder what are the preferred jack and dc jack options as well. What are you guys using?

So I am new to this and really wouldn’t even know where to start testing it. I originally asked in another section if someone here repairs pedals because I think someone with experience would be much more likely to fix it rather than make it worse haha

Well actually i did mess up and use a different connector when taking the photo earlier and grabbed the wrong one, so leave it up to me haha.

There is a picture of d9 (just to the left of the electro cap). I don’t think it’s blown? Not sure if it would be obvious or not? I am using the correct power supply but thinking back I am almost positive that guy was probably using the wrong polarity so I’m assuming that is likely the issue.

I can’t say I even remember what power supply I was using when it was working. Currently using a true tone cs6 to power of. I don’t think I even had the original boss power supply as I got it used unfortunately. Let me check and make sure I’m using the right cable with the cs6. Thanks for...

I just saw this, but the good news is i got my shipment of stuff in and with the new 4558, it is up and working! Thanks to everyone for the help! I am really liking this pedal so far.

To follow up, the volume pot does indeed work as it should. Same with the tone knob from what I can tell. The gain knob almost seems to be working in reverse, which seems odd. Switches work as they should. Unfortunately don’t have another 4558 chip so will have to wait for my next order to...
