    Builds 21–30 Done!

Like I said in the other post, I really hated how loud my BOSS GE-7 was, and this one turned out to be the whisper-quiet one I was looking for in the first place. A really fun build, too, and yeah, the premade faceplate makes it look almost like a real pedal! :ROFLMAO:

2-in-1 Enclosure for Notakliché and Cobalt Drive--Tayda Drill Template

Cool, thanks for taking a look. As far as the drill holes for the jacks, I used the same measurements as the ones on the Parentheses Fuzz. That board doesn't take up as much space, so I adjusted the jack holes to match (I think) the distance from the bottom of the enclosure on the Notakliché...

2-in-1 Enclosure for Notakliché and Cobalt Drive--Tayda Drill Template

Thanks for catching that--it should work now!

2-in-1 Enclosure for Notakliché and Cobalt Drive--Tayda Drill Template

Hi All, So I'm in the planning stages for my first 2-in-1 pedal, which will combine a Notakliché with a Cobalt Drive. I'm currently working on the Tayda drill template for putting them in a 1590XX enclosure. I took the template for each pedal and then basically did the math regarding distance...

    Builds 21–30 Done!

Dude, the whole gang of you that walked me through the Grunge troubleshooting are basically the reason I'm still making pedals. The first few passes I took at trying to fix that thing befor posting in the forum nearly convinced me to give up on the whole shebang. Glad I didn't!

    Builds 21–30 Done!

I should probably post individual build reports as I go along, but when I'm neck-deep in a batch of builds, I tend to get tunnel vision, so here's a quick rundown of what I've been up to for the past couple of months. Full disclosure: I haven't done any artwork yet. I bought a set of acrylic...

    106NU70 Germanium Transistor Equivalent

So I'm not overly familiar with the statistical likelihood of finding good matches for a particular pedal by buying a random lot of transistors off of ebay, but based on some of the comments above, I'm wondering if this would lead to two usable transistors...

    106NU70 Germanium Transistor Equivalent

So as I was poking around online, I came across these at Small Bear: https://smallbear-electronics.mybigcommerce.com/2n1302-germanium-transistor-npn-rca/ If I got one in the 51-60 Hfe range and another in the 61-70 range, would these be reasonable substitutes? The internet tells me their...

    106NU70 Germanium Transistor Equivalent

Hi All, I made the classic mistake of impulse buying a PCB a while back--in this case the Muffin Factory--and while I'm excited to take on such a complex build, I didn't check the components before pulling the trigger. Now I'm realizing that the 106NU70 germanium NPN transistors are pretty much...

    6-Band EQ (Slider Version)

This is the one I used: https://drill.taydakits.com/box-designs/new?public_key=aTVxa1BsNnMwZ2t5QklVc0tvcEtrdz09Cg==

    6-Band EQ (Slider Version)

I've been making progress on my latest round of builds, but with most of them, I tend to stop once the PCBs are populated and save them all for final wiring and assembly at the end. I could tell about halfway through the 6-Band EQ (slider version) that there was no stopping halfway, mostly due...

    Notakliche Diode Option Question

I gotta get me some of those!

    Notakliche Diode Option Question

Thanks for the info! I think I might go with the 1N34A diodes since 1) they're magical, and 2) they've got the cool blue stripe. :ROFLMAO:

    Notakliche Diode Option Question

I had a strong suspicion this would be the answer, but I figured better to ask than assume. :) A sort of follow-up question, I guess: even if the forward voltage for these two sets won't make a difference, what would the general difference between lower and higher forward voltage be in a hard...

    Notakliche Diode Option Question

Hi All, So I'm getting ready to start work on my Notakliche, and as I was going through my germanium diodes, I found a couple of options: 1. Two 1N34A diodes with forward voltage of .377 and .388 respectively. 2. Two D9E diodes with exact matching forward voltage of .280. A little internet...
