    Zorkmid Overdrive (Paul Cochrane Zefram)

Clearly I am not the only one who get's obsessive about build appearance. I HATE crooked film caps, never mind upside down. That would just have to get replaced.

    Clusterfuzz / Figbuster

47R5 may be a consequence of shifting to lower tolerances. I found 4.75K to be cheaper than 4.7K when I went to buy 1% tolerance.

    Your favorite silicon transistor?

Hmm. If you are bassy but otherwise happy, you might changing capacitors instead. When I was working out my last FF, I tried out capacitors fro 0.1µF to 2.2µF at C4 (input) and and 22nf to 3.3nF on C3 (output). On my last build (with 2N2222A's) I went all the way down to 50nF on the input...

    Muffin Fuzz low volume/gain issue

Just to be clear 1. with tone circuit engaged the volume is lower than expected. 2. with tone circuit bypassed volume is louder (but how loud)? 3. what diodes are you using (I assume Si, based upon appearance)? I have built a couple other Muffs (Muffinator Fuzz and plain old Muffin Fuzz...

    Boss DS2 power issue

Maybe the power supply's ground lead is disconnected. This might explain your symptoms: 1. battery OK - battery ground connection is good 2. daisy chain OK - assuming both pedals are on the same power supply, the ground is connecting via the audio cable to the Boss BD2, so the ground circuit is...

    Sandspur Fuzz biasing

Not sure I've heard this circuit sound like gating and space lasers, but I can make it squeal on high-gain NPN at max fuzz. I get feedback descriptions wrong, but when the Fuzz pot goes to zero, the feedback loop can go into runaway amplification or oscillation. I think I found this on Jack...

SOLVED AionFX Andromeda Deluxe (Nordland ODR-C) - Build Differences

Today I hear no difference. I am marking this solved, and I have a hypothesis. I think that this may have been residual IPA that alters the performance of some components (potentiometers or switches, mostly, where I can't see drying). I have experienced this before, where I initially had...

SOLVED AionFX Andromeda Deluxe (Nordland ODR-C) - Build Differences

At the beginning of January I finished my first PCB for the AionFX Andromeda Deluxe version of the Nordland ODR-C. Once I dealt with a detached pad (from bending the large Panasonic ECQ substitute for unavailable 2.2µF box film capacitor) it worked fine. Playing around with it, I could...

    Fulfilling a project BOM

Second what some others have said - just dig in and enter into a cart at your preferred vendor. Here are some of the things that I do: I have an ever-growing Component Inventory Spreadsheet. I track all my components, grouped by kind (i.e. Resistor, Capacitor, Diode, Transistor, IC) with...

    (Vero) Shin-Ei ME-7, v2.0, Wah-Tornado-Siren-Volume

OK. I'll pick this up. It's not my day job, so this will probably be a week or two to work through; I like the challenge so that's probably going to motivate me to choose this to work on in the evening. @Fuzzonaut Do you have any details from your build to add? What did you use for the choke (I...

    (Vero) Shin-Ei ME-7, v2.0, Wah-Tornado-Siren-Volume

Ooh. This is tempting. Could fit well into synth world and no-input pedal jams. @EisengesisFX I haven't been successful on my first real PCB build, but I may give this a whirl

Inner Combuster 💥 🛸 (Huntington Audio Freebie Fuzz/ Fuzz Face)

Someone more knowledgeable may correct me, but I think the answer is, yes when the Fuzz is max, the circuit can shriek. Somewhere I found info on this (one of the valuable reference sites, like RG Keen's) (EDIT: I think this idea is found in some of Jack Orman's posts) and the simplest solution...

    Two Aleph Null builds

I had the same issue with Moka Pot. The one's have that didn't fit are STMicro 1N5817. The spec sheet says the leads should be 0.28" but both the 1N5817 and 1N5819 I have measure 0.055". I am guessing the PCB was drilled at 0.05"

A new-production BBD, with added features!

Well - quick assessment is the SMD board is not functional. Pfft. I have signal and clock going into the SSI2100, but am not seeing anything come out. I have a couple of leads to check - one possibility is my clock is not suitable (SA555P setup for 86kHz and 48% duty cycle). I think this should...

    MXR Phase 45 (Sheepy Love)

Late to the builds. I have been working with SMD a bunch lately and also could use more phasers. I built the Small Stone and the Grand Orbiter, but would like to try the MxR’s. Will DM
