Got pictures, it sounds like some DC voltage where it’s not supposed to be. Did you clean the flux off with isopropyl? Check all your polarities and reflow your solder joints. It’s a small board, so doing them all won’t hurt.

Are you getting voltage on both sides of the installed diode?

Naaa, you don’t toast any film caps. Check for solder bridges and see what your voltage is on your diode. The diode is supposed to assist with things like this.

Yep, tube depot. It’s a great amp, the instructions are a little difficult to follow at times. I think I would have liked turret board a little better, but the mojotone kit was a little more. I haven’t been able to really open it up, but it sounds great.
