    Lt1054 negative voltage grounds

From Kevin at Aion you sparked my interest so I asked: They're separate on the main board, but they connect up on the footswitch board. it's just a way to keep the analog signal as far as possible from the high-frequency oscillation of the charge pump. It's somewhat specific to the way our...

    Lt1054 negative voltage grounds

I've never used separate grounds for voltage converter circuits I think it's maybe just a personal indicator to separate the parts used to convert the voltage you'll notice it starts at the charge pump protection zener Certainly the datasheets don't specify using separate grounds

    Zonk machine!

Nice Johhny glad you're not using those knobs beautiful as they are we don't want any of that cool zonk labelling obscured now do we Looking good

    Circuit Punk Zine

I did a quick forum search prior to posting and saw he'd posted inviting people to write articles So I kinda like the idea some of the articles will come from people we all know in the DIY community sharing their knowledge and ideas

    Circuit Punk Zine

Came across this on reddit so thought id share, it looks pretty good and well put together I had a quick glance and there are some nice articles https://circuitpunk.neocities.org/

Modifying the Sunflower Fuzz with 2SB173 and 175

If your leakage unit of measurement is uA they'll be fine RG Keen recommends leakage of up to 300uA / 0.3Ma

Help! Ross Comp doing some weird stuff with trimpot

There's usually a small 1 denoting pot lug 1 on the pcb shown in the build doc I'm obviously used to it so if one pads not square for lug 1 I'd always look for lug numbering yours is the V4 Morc pcb

Help! Ross Comp doing some weird stuff with trimpot

It's a guitarpcb board the pots go on the underside but the other way around so lugs 1 and 3 are the wrong way around on yours

Help! Ross Comp doing some weird stuff with trimpot

The trimpot should be set in the middle position if you get thumping you should turn it in small increments afaik it adjusts the OTA input bias currents to balance them Yours looks like it's set to one extreme or the other your trimmer screw slot should be parallel to the 2 inline lugs turn it...

What is this transistor doing here?

It's an NPN power transistor so if you've any spares with the same voltage rating as the 2SD600E it should be fine I'd check anything you've got against its datasheet or just get one I think you can still get them easily enough

    General Tso’s compressor troubleshooting

It's very difficult to see some of your resistor multiplier bands It might just be the light reflection but check R1, 6, 10 and 12 are 10K (brown black black red brown) R10 definitely looks like a 1K zoomed in brown black black brown brown but as I say might just be the lighting

Sunflower Fuzz - Low, Gated Output, bias trim not working

You can't really put them in the wrong way around I don't think the 2 inline pins would make it difficult I'd reflow the bias trimmer joint first, check it, if it's still not right reflow every joint it's not that big a circuit

Sunflower Fuzz - Low, Gated Output, bias trim not working

Those are normal CBE pinout how did you know the pinout where they marked or did you test them Did you reflow any solder joints as @BuddytheReow said initially this one here on the bias trimmer doesn't look great

Sunflower Fuzz - Low, Gated Output, bias trim not working

The bias trimmer and sundial are both wired as variable resistors with lugs 2 and 3 joined turning them clockwise should increase resistance across lugs 1 and 3 of both so they seem to be OK from your description When I initially looked at your resistance values I thought R3 had a red...

Sunflower Fuzz - Low, Gated Output, bias trim not working

Fully ccw not cw, cw would be max resistance across the sundial
