Sound samples for bassdude and particle accelerator?

The Particle Accelerator stays clean throughout the gain range, it doesn't break up much. The Bassdude breaks up beautifully at about 9, 10 o'clock on the gain knob. The Bassdude sounds like it will fit your needs better.

    The MOD Squad

@Tassieviking On the BassDude=> JTM45 mod, would you recommend a fresh build or it's not a big deal to mod an existing build?

    The MOD Squad

Ooooooooo, I like the idea of turning the Bassdude into a JTM45!

    NGD! Sorta...

Great work on that nut! I cut a new nut for my 12 string as well couple years ago. Last time EVER lol!. Just an observation, those deep slots on the G, B, and E strings might give you some wolf notes. I like to leave the slots just at the top of the string on plain strings.

    DEMO Eight Ball Overdrive

Nice build and demo! The JCM800 amp has two input jacks. Low and High sensitivity. The "Sensitivity" knob is supposed to emulate the two different sounds at the extreme range of the turns but also allow you to blend anything in-between the two inputs. (Which you can't do on the amp).

Anyone Compared the OTC-201 to the Diamond Comp?

Ok I amend my comment, "Changed ownership one time....."

Stagecoach Overdrive (Barber BUSS fww Edition)

Thats funny, I just boxed up a build using that same enclosure. I've been recycling some of my early builds and/or of pedals that I know I won't ever play. So that's been my MO for most of my builds lately. But for this build I did not have one in a 125b with a simple 4 knob layout. So I had to...

DEMO GOTA/Sheepy Love "Squishy" (Boss CS-2)

It's the BA662, which is obsolete, but if you really want one.....you can get one here. For a mere $60.... :p . This is the one at SmallBear I used.

Couple of builds from this week....GreenGage, Perelandra Deluxe, Malacandra

I didn't have an opinion, I just used the values Kevin had in the build doc heh. It's just the input and output buffers. I think any NPN would work. But you can certainly use 2SC1815's for "authenticity" hahaha. I absolutely LOVE the RC Booster. There's a lot of different use cases for it. I'm...

Tone Generator - First ever 1590A build!

Hey all, It's been a while since I posted a build report! I've had this 1590A enclosure since I started building back in 2022. I've just never had anything to put in it. And I never could crack the code on doing top jacks on it without major surgery to the enclosure. Big shout out to...

Anyone Compared the OTC-201 to the Diamond Comp?

it probably just some filtering between the bass and guitar version. But given how good the regular one sounds, I bet the bass version kicks butt as well. But hasn't Diamond Pedals changed ownership a few times in recent years? Who designed the original compressor?

    Introducing......"Blackie"

It's hard to keep up with my constant tone chasing and configuration swaps hahaha. "Goldie" got a set of regular Fender knobs.....and yes, that's a mint pickguard. Or it is now...... That random knob.....and yes it was just that, a random knob in my big bin of old parts. It might be over 30...

Anyone Compared the OTC-201 to the Diamond Comp?

The CS-2 was a custom collaboration between @Guardians of the analog an @szukalski. All the info re: the IC, etc is in my build report. It's different from the CS-3. Hard to describe compressor tone attributes as they can be so vague. But if you have a lot of exposure to different types of...

Anyone Compared the OTC-201 to the Diamond Comp?

As long as your components are rated above 18v it should be ok. However, I don't think you're going to get any more headroom than you already have with both units. I haven't had a good reason to run either at 18v.
