Funny little boxes binge- Stone Age, can of Worms and Plaid Preamp

If you didn’t know, these circuits are Funny Little Boxes’ attempt to recreate several grunge/alternative best sounds. Stone Age emulates Queens of the Stone Age, Can of Worms is Alice In Chains and Plaid Preamp is Pearl Jam. I really enjoyed these pedals and they did a great job finding the...

Burns Buzzaround PCB- Can you all review and critique?

@temol, @szukalski, and @neiltheseal - Thanks again for all the help. These comments are really helpful, and I am starting to see the picture more clearly. I recognize that the project is probably more ambitious, but I was going to give it a go for a couple more attempts. Let me know your...

Burns Buzzaround PCB- Can you all review and critique?

@neiltheseal , @temol , and @szukalski - these are great suggestions. Thanks! Let me go back and give it a try without the auto routing and see if that cleans it up. @neiltheseal - your comment about the ground pour helps clear up my confusion, so thanks!

Burns Buzzaround PCB- Can you all review and critique?

I am new at the PCB design (in otherwords, I have never done it), and was wanting to expand my abilities. I was hoping that some of the guru's could critique these PCBs and give me some tips. I used the PedalPCB schematic and layout for the Burns Buzzaround (@Robert - If it is not ok to do...

A multimeter that can read frequencies over 50hz

I had the same issue too. I tuned it by ear. It sounds great, but it does make me wonder if it would sound greater if properly tuned…. I was told that the Fluke has a model that will measure the frequency.

    VFE Merman via Madbeapedals

@Guardians of the analog This was my first VFE build. I can understand your sentiment. The boards are tight and the parts unique. @jcpst I would give this Klon clone a try. I think it is worth it.

    VFE Merman via Madbeapedals

I have a confession..... I am not a fan of the Klon. I recognize that is blasphemous, but it is true. I've make a few Klons, but never found the right one...until now. I cannot fully explain why this version is better, but the articulation of the notes is fantastic and it is easier to dial in...

    Electric Canary Iridescent Delay

If you are fond of delay pedals, then you should consider this project. It is a PT2399 based delay, but don't become biased against the chip. While it isn't "true" analog, it does a fantastic job. This pedal has the most features of any DIY delay that I have seen. It has modulation with...

    General Tso troubleshooting

With no sound for bypass or engaged, you need to check your off board wiring, either at the jacks or footswitch.

Which soldering iron do you like?

Ahh, that could really help. Great idea!

Which soldering iron do you like?

@Robert I just got the Hakko FX888DX model. My old soldering iron had the tip seize in it, and I couldn't get it out. Can you point me in the right direction for the barrels that you are mentioning in your post. Thanks!
