Parenthesis Fuzz Expression Jack Mod Issue

So I wanted to add a jack for an expression pedal like EQD has on the new ones. I found something online as to how everything should be hooked up. The distortion and boost worked as should but when I turned on the octave it lowered the output, and after I plugged a stereo cable in, it didn't work, and once I removed the cable it just hums like it's going to ground when I switch on the octave.

It's hard to tell from the photo where the wires are going.

Can you post a pic with the jack removed from the enclosure so the wires are more visible?
