Blue Shoe. How to avoid 6 knobs jamming into each other on 125B top?

Hello everyone,

I just finished my Blue Shoe and it works/sounds fantastic!🤘
I am not so good with the assembly phase, especially drilling the holes. 😓

Please, do you have any suggestions to fix/avoid such issues/mistakes like the following? The knobs are touching, jamming into each other

Smaller knobs.

Over drill the holes and spread the pots apart while tightening the nuts down.
(Why does this statement sound so obscene?)

Probably smaller knobs though. The MXRs don't cooperate with the 6-knob layout very well.

1510's fit pretty good.

I'm not a fan of larger-diameter (19mm or larger) knobs on a 125B (unless it's a single knob-job like the XC Phase or Clandestine) so I basically keep to Davies 1900 clones or the skinny aluminum knobs, each of which run more like 12mm in diameter. The PG-14 used some form of MXR type.

Tayda lists theirs as 20mm, Smallbear lists theirs as 19mm.

19mm would fit, although I'm not sure if there's just some tolerance in the measurements or they actually do make two different knobs that have a difference in diameter of 1mm...

Either way, at 19mm you'll need to be pretty dang accurate with your drilling.

Yeah, it is possible, but very tight.
Have a look at this out of the box.

I will try once again to drill a new enclosure (just because I liked this color combination). Going slowly, to be more precise this time. If this does not work, I will follow the "smaller knob" tip.
I will post the drill result here. In the meantime, thank you.

Yeah, they are different, the ones that I purchased from AmplifiedParts and SmallBear differ from Tayda's in shape and size. American also look better and cost more :)

You want MXR style No Skirt:

I have Tayda 20mm skirted MXRs on one of my 3-in-a-row knob builds. You can make it work if you file the edges of the outer four pot holes, expanding them toward the sides of the enclosure, and then slightly bend the pots to fit. This would also be easier if you used the 19mm version.
