I think so. But, if they are in parallel, it doesn't matter. As long as they're opposed to each other... One in each direction

Frequently, yes. But the most accurate answer will come from testing them, if you have a DMM.

What he said... I've got a DMM with a diode setting that I use to check every diode I use... for both polarity and voltage drop.
