I’ve owned originals of the Volt Thrower and ODB and didn’t LOVE them. I guess I’m in the same place with these except I’m more connected because of blood, and sweat (no tears haha).
The Volt Thrower is a solid Rat, probably one of the best I’ve tried, but I prefer a Expandora for everything but the maxed gain sounds.
The ODB is a bass voiced OCD. It sounds like a OCD to my ears haha.
The Wizard is probably the most interesting. Like they threw all the “things” into one pedal: mosfet boost, muamp, muff (if my memory serves me?), etc. Anyway, I cant figure out what I think about it. Definitely high gain.
Cthulhu is NPN germ paralleled with mosfet boost. It sounds good, but I’m not sure how unique sounding it is. I used transistor sockets, which is unusual for me, so I can audition some more combos.
I am fan of Effect Layouts for real - solidly designed PCBs. I have a bunch of D*A*M PCBs from Effect Layouts and PPCB that I’m excited to get to.
