Im still pretty new to this amazing and addictive craft, but this is one I think came out pretty cool.

First off I really dig this pedal very cool species of Rat. It’s a very solid dirt pedal. I used a cricut cutter to make the graphics, which was way easier than I thought. Im not a big fan of painting and programs like gimp and inkscape have turned out to be a thorn in my balls. I wanted to keep it similar to the 1981 design so i went with a bigger box 1590bb vertically and used a solder lug pot for the cut/tone knob to get the knobs in line and clipped the led legs and soldered wire on to move the led into place. (Spaghetti warning). Just wanted to share the final outcome with you folks, because the help you have given me along the way has been great. This is a really cool community so again thank you. Feel free to share any thoughts suggestions keen observations, you can even roast it if you’d like, no thin skin here.

I say share more builds anytime. I appreciate the dedication to red wire. I would've never guessed that was made on a cricut.
Welcome to the white washer club! All are accepted. Few are loved.

But let's talk about that outie jack ...
man I agree with you on the outie jack, I gotta stop taking the easy way outie and sack up. Whats the best jack to use.

Thanks man i forgot to take that washer off lol, The cricut was surprisingly easy, it works really well for a silhouette design, but your never getting any small lettering out of that thing. The letters on the knobs are like that old guy who has the big font so he can read his text messages

I use these from Tayda but some have sworn them off because for some QC issues. https://www.taydaelectronics.com/dc-power-jack-2-1mm-round-type-panel-mount-1.html
All good though. I still have an outie on a build that I had to take apart and put back together like 8 times. I did find out that with some tweezers and time you can generally test the circuit without soldering the power jack. Just gotta be sure the connection is solid and crimp the wire through the lug. I had a pedal that I used for over a year that I had actually forgotten to solder once and it was never an issue. Not suggested though.

Sometimes I keep the washer to hide my botched drilling or to protect the decal. The cricut seems like a cool move but those are some real limitations for sure.

Yeah the cricuit definitely has a ceiling but i have a few simple concepts I can do to just finish some of these pedals i have sitting around. I should have a really cool build report shortly on the love pedal tchula (Dielectric boost) That Im calling the spanish fly. I have the enclosure done and it looks cool I just have to wiggle that big pcb in there im gonna mount it horizontally like the real tchula

Nice build!

I've switched to only using outies now. It's just easier and I don't have time to make my life even just a little bit harder than it needs to be. I was using those little Tayda jacks without the extra switching lug, but they always come loose. I started adding an extra nut on the inside to solve the issue because I didn't find any lock washers that would fit the thing at the local hardware store.

You can always leave more of the outie inside the pedal (add an extra nut on the inside to set your depth) for a less obtrusive appearance.
