Simulcast No Effect

Hey y'all,
My simulcast is passing audio in bypass and, when switched on, the LED lights but the pedal doesn't pass audio. I've reflowed my solder points, double-checked component values and orientation, and looked for any shorts. I've also swapped out the chip with a MAX1044 and a 7660 to no effect.

Only thing I can think of (except something obvious that I'm overlooking) is that my OC71 sub isn't working/compatible? After reading some threads here I picked up a GT402B from Stomp Box Parts with an HFE in the 90s, and double-checked the odd pinout with their diagram and Small Bear's (in the attached photos).

Any ideas? Thanks so much for the help!

It's a tidy build, I'm leaning towards the GT402B maybe B & E are 180 degrees or pins maybe touching???
Do you have a Transistor tester?
Does it work in bypass mode?

Update – went ahead and ordered a new transistor, but still no effect. It was a Polish TG5S, measured at the correct hFE.

I tried in both orientations, neither worked (possible I have the base pin incorrect..?). It does work in bypass. Any other ideas? New photos attached.

Thanks so much for the help, folks!

I’m still wondering about that resistor r6…

I think 450r would be yellow, green, black, black, brown.

That third band certainly looks orange to me. Sometimes pictures are tricky and red looks like orange, but they definitely don’t make black look like orange.

Looking at the schematic, that resistor would only be in circuit in one switch position so I guess that’s probably not your problem. I assume you have the same problem in all switch positions?
