Totally spaced on doing a report for this lil guy -
Excuse the long demos, but this thing inspires me
The input starts with a buffer/ splitter, with one side going to the footswitch, and the other to a direct out for driving envelope detectors.
The send goes into a Fuzzdog Spluffer, with each our going to a separate dirt circuit, and the return going to the footswitch.
The out lug of the footswitch goes into yet another buffered splitter so I can send the cacophony to two amps or whatever.
The OD is essentially the Proco Brat, with infrared LEDs in both soft and hard clipping stages
The DS is my take on the Turbo Rat
The FZ is a my take on the dirt section of the Juggernaut
All three are built on Madbean Runt boards, equipped with 308H metal cans, and have the Filter pot wired internally. Footswitch is one of those highfalutin DeMonts. Knobs are some NOS things I grabbed from a surplus shop, but have yet to find a model or make for.
The box is @steviejr92's amazing work. We tumbled ideas for a day or two, after talking about Bud ConvertaBoxes, and this is the end result. He talked me into the blacked out aesthetic, and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out. I can't recommend him enough, but got up @steviejr92 for any custom boxes you may need.
Dimensions are 9x6x2, and it's construced out of a slightly thicker steel than Proco used for the Big Box Rat, but uses the same general guidelines for the Bud ConvertaBoxes
Guts aren't the prettiest, but I love this thing. Being able to add more clang (brat) or bassy grunge (juggernaut) to the mostly stock Turbo Rat portion while keeping the standard grinding fuzztortion is awesome, and keeps me pretty occupied. I typically keep the DS volume the highest and bleed in a bit of the other channels, but every combination sounds goddamned amazing
