I built one of these in 2023 and I remember liking it, but I sold it pretty quick. I ordered another board right away, and I had an extra faceplate from the first build, so I could have done another one pretty quick, but It’s always a little less exciting to do a repeat build.
The build went great. I’ve been working through some of the more complex stuff in my backlog lately, so this felt pleasantly fast. I did slip when I was drilling one of the jack holes and went oversize by one step on the bit. Instead of scrapping it, I made a bushing to size the hole back down.
Unfortunately I’m not really in love with the sound so far. I dig the multi head setup, and the age knob is good, but I think the core sound feels like a digital delay to me (which makes sense) and that’s just not my favorite delay flavor.
