The Clap mid boost

Happy new year all,

I was just about to buy ‘the clap’ musikding but have seen that it had an issue with switch pop. There is an amazing site in the uk for pedal kits but he is having the same issue with his.

Does anyone know if this was de-bugged?

Let me build one up and see if I can get it corrected.

I don't believe the original circuit design was intended to be switched.
Hi Robert, did you manage to fix this design? I'm interested in building one of these but will hold off until you have done what you need to do.

I finally got a chance to install the TBX and Clapton boost (the Fender version) in a strat (which requires a lot of routering) and I understand what the fuss is about. It sounds very good. I've built both the PedalPCB and the Aion version and like them both but haven't had any popping issues. I WOULD like to try putting a transformer based pickup emulator in the box to see if it sounds more like the original (which hangs directly off the pickups and uses a 50k pot as the strat volume). The TBX is a nice addition as well. If you push the amp too hard with the boost you can roll back a bit of the bottom end, or you can roll off the top end and keep the guitar very chimey even at low pot volumes without it getting spikey.

Does it deliver the goods? I'm surprised they made this with so many discrete components rather than a simpler and cheaper opamp based design
It works very well, so much so I have popped one into my strat with a toggle switch to bypass it. Cheaper and imo an easier way of doing it compared to the fender version !
