Apologies if this is not the appropriate place -- just wanted to get some quick opinions from people who understand pedals best (builders).

A buyer sent me this picture (Cornerstone Gladio Gut Shot) saying it's fake and wants to return it.

If it's fake, I'll definitely accept the return, but I'm not seeing anything in the picture he sent that stands out as fake to me. Admittedly, I'm not an expert on pedal circuitry though, so I'm hoping someone who knows more can chime in on the picture.

What am I missing that he sees, or does it look OK to you? I also emailed Cornerstone support, but TBD on their reply.

I'd prefer not to accept a return request just because of buyer's remorse. We've all bought pedals and just not vibed with them for whatever reason. I don't think that's a fair return reason when buying from an private seller locally (no fault of the seller), but if there is something wrong with the pedal, I will definitely make it right.

Thanks for any input here. Will delete post in a couple of days (or if Cornerstone replies sooner)..

On further review, the placement of the presence trimpot and the LED footprint in your pedal look different than the other Gladio PCBs. Maybe yours is an earlier 2.1C board, but it more closely resembles this DemonFX clone:

The JLCJLCJLC on the OP PCB adds pause as I don't see that in the same rev PCB in the TGP thread

There's also a DemonFX version

Here is a TGP thread about different version. I don't have the will to read it

I acknowledge there are fakes out there (he shared the same link as evidence). Are there specific differences I should be looking for?

The gut shot he sent me doesn't appear to have any obvious tell to me.

Anyways, appreciate all of the replies thus far. I'll let this simmer overnight and try to address his concerns tomorrow.

The switches look different vs the fake?
I'm sorry. But I don't have the energy to deep dive into this. Maybe try reddit /diypedals?

Now that I compare the original (posted by Robert and on tgp) to some of the fakes here, what stands out is that the fakes have brand name at the bottom edge of the pcb. The OPs has a serial number (or something) there. But the originals are all blank there. Starting to be more suspicious.

I bought one directly from them. I can send you a gut shot later this week. I also can’t see anything suspicious in that pic. Sorry you are dealing with this!
